Soil type: Flysch, marl, sandstone and loam soil
Location: Ankaran, Baredi, Ricorvo, Škocjan, Prade
Grape harvest: Machine harvested and hand-picked at the end of September, beginning of October
Winemaking: Destemmed grapes are macerated from 6 to 10 days. Following the fermentation and biological deacidification, the wine matures in large wood barrels and stainless steel vats.
Colour: An intensive ruby red colour is typical for this wine.
Aroma: You can discover ripe red fruit with notes of wood and sour cherry in the aroma of this wine.
Taste: This wine is pleasantly soft and of medium rich body with many flavours reminiscent of ripe sour cherry and blackberry. We are greeted with beautifully ripe tannins in the finish.
Food and wine pairing recommendation: Merlot wine nicely compliments everyday meals, including red meat, pork, meat stews etc.
