Soil type: Eocence flysch with marl
Location: Debeli rtič, Purissima
Grape harvest: by hand, at the beginning of October.
Winemaking: Macerated for 11 days and fermented at 32C. After the process of pressing and malolactic fermentation, 20% of wine matures in 225 leters Barrique barrels up to 1 year. Rest of wine matures in large barrels made of Slavonian oak. Then all together matures in large oak barrels until bottling.
Aging potential: up 6 years
Colour: The color of wine is clear intensive ruby red with discreet violet shade
Aroma: You can enjoy the rich aromatic notes of ripe rasberries, cherries, plum mamalade ant other ripen red fruits, with development of floral notes, rounded with vanilla and smoke hints.
Taste: The taste of this especially rich wine is gentle and velvety, is reminiscent of red fruits, vanilla chocolate and forest undergrowth. Hint of wood and nice balance of sweet and elegant tannins give this wine nice potential for further ageing.
Food and wine pairing recommendation: The wine goes nicely with red meat, game meat and matured cheeses.
