A rich, elegant red wine with aromas of dark berries, violets, and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is complex yet balanced, with hints of liquorice and mint, and beautifully ripe tannins. The red blend Capo d'Istria 1072 was awarded a gold medal (96 points) at this year’s prestigious Decanter competition.

- Wine-growing region: Slovenian Istria
- Vineyards: Debeli Rtič
- Soil type: Eocene flysch with marl and sandstone
- Varieties: Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Refošk
- Harvest: Exclusively hand-picked in the second half of September.
- Processing: The berries from the hand-picked grapes were optically sorted, allowing only the best to undergo fermentation with extended maceration in wooden vinification vessels. During this time, malolactic fermentation also took place. This was followed by gentle pressing and racking into 225 L oak barrels, where the wine aged for an additional 15 months. It then matured for another 15 months in the bottle before being offered to customers.

- Aroma: The bouquet is expressive, with a palette of dark berries such as blackcurrant, blackberry, and mulberry, elegantly complemented by violet notes.
- Taste: The palate is extremely complex yet elegant. The dark berry character reappears, joined by liquorice and a subtle hint of mint. The overall experience is rounded off by well-expressed fruitiness, the structure of ripe tannins, and a pleasant note of Mediterranean herbs.
