An inky dark wine with aromas of vanilla and dark berry fruit, overlaid with sandalwood, pencil shavings and chocolate. The palate is remarkably fresh and precise, bright and surprisingly vibrant. There are generous bramble and blueberry notes and grainy but still youthful tannins. This is a very focussed Merlot that carries its alcohol well and still needs time to develop to its full potential, but it could be enjoyed with rich meat and cheese dishes already
