A confident, passionate, incisive wine made from red grapes. Choose from indigenous Refosco Wine of Koper, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and Cipro. About the production: the mashing process is followed by maceration (several days), where the grape juice is in contact with the skins of the grapes This results in a more pronounced extraction of colour, aromas and other substances from the grape berry into a priceless must.

A deep black-red wine, still youthful in appearance. It has a complex nose, with notes of bilberry, raspberry and damson, with good oak integration and a hint of clove spice. To taste, it has very typical Refošk structure: firm and with an almost steely backbone. It’s linear rather than rounded, with fine but structured tannins and fresh acidity. Still young but would go well with full-flavoured savoury dishes already.

An inky ruby wine made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Refošk. It has a very classic bouquet with good complexity and notes of cedar and sandalwood, cassis and hints of wild raspberry and spicy oak. To taste, this is a rich, serious, well-made wine with surprisingly fresh cassis and bramble fruit, supported by vivid, fresh acidity and nicely balanced firm but fine-grained tannins, giving still further ageing potential.

Bright purple-black in appearance. The nose is super-clean and classy though a little closed, with touches of harmonious oak, blackberry fruit and cassis and is just starting to develop a little complexity. To taste, this is a powerful wine but it has lovely fruit purity with juicy blackcurrant notes and a hint of liquorice, followed by nicely textured grainy tannins and a long finish. This is a classy Cabernet Sauvignon by any standards with lots of promise for the future too.

There is a more mature bouquet here with cedar, tobacco and wild herbs here adding complexity to the intense black fruit. To taste, it’s still remarkably youthful for a ten year-old wine with powerful cassis and plum fruit and masses of structure. It’s beginning to soften and mellow but still has plenty of keeping potential too.
